More fosters

I didn't blog about the Boston we fostered a few weeks back. She was young, healthy, sweet, and pretty - so she went to her new home very quickly. The next little lady we had was Bonnie - a BT/Beagle mix. Cute, right? To find out more about her check out IL/MO Rescue. She's being fostered at another location now, but she's still available. Earlier this week, we started fostering Ginger. She's a two-year-old Pug/Dachshund mix. Seriously - this dog has the sweetest face! I'm still learning about her, but so far she's a pretty terrific little girl.  She's (ahem) on a diet. She's smiling at me! If you look closely - you can see that she's stepping on my toes. Maybe she's really mean and that's why she's smiling ;)

Mother's Day

I snapped a few quick ones from Mother's Day... This girl is fast - and wouldn't sit still. Until I have her a lens hood and a lens cap. Yep - she's pretty proud of herself for nabbing her Mom's things. Does it get cuter than this? I really don't see how it could? This kid's pretty cute too! And this one! Everyone loves on Bosco. He really is a pretty terrific old man. And this guy? This guy is a drama queen who doesn't like being woken up from naps. I could write a whole separate post about these birds, and the lack of luck they've had raising babies the past few years. They build nests in the weirdest places, and they haven't had much luck hatching any eggs. This year, this particularly family of birds hatched TWO babies. One is super independent a flew the coop a few days ago - right on schedule with what the Internet said it should do. This guy flies but keeps coming back - so his Momma has stayed too! Am I nuts ...

Brinley's Birthday Party

I wanted to have a BIG party for Brinley. Not like a "pull-out-all-the-stops, pony rides, clowns, and bounce house" party, but a party with extended family and friends. But, I was exhausted :) so we ended up just inviting immediate family. I didn't get any pictures of Brinley during her party, but I did snag a few before it all started. She's gotten over her fear of balloons, so we headed to 'It's Party Time'  and got two small bouquets for the kids' table, and a cute little centerpiece. They didn't have the peachy color I was looking for, so she custom-colored the melon ones you see in the background. How cool is that? Maybe it's not to you, but I'm a dork and centered the decore' around Brinley's birthday outfit, and wanted it to be right. The center piece has curly ribbon on it - :) I LOVE curly ribbon. And the dessert table... Cupcakes and cookies! Bought the cookies, made the cupcakes. Brinley settled ...
