ipsy December 2015 Glam Bag

My ipsy December Glam Bag arrived a few weeks ago. I'd been stalking the mail box as soon as pictures started popping up online from other ipsters. It took an extra week to get here this month (likely due to the high volume of mail at the post office around the holidays). I wasn't at all patient. :) The really liked the bag this month. It's a quilted pleather (lol) and bright red (for the holidays). And it has a cute zipper. The first item I received was the AVEENO® Daily Moisturizing Lotion. We've tried this before and like it. It does a great job moisturizing without leaving a greasy feeling behind. We don't buy it on a regular basis because I have a house full of girls and we prefer the smelly lotions from Bath and Body Works.  If J needed lotion, I'd likely buy this for him. An 18 oz bottle retails for about $8.00. Having a house full of girls, all of us with a different type of hair, we have a very diverse selection of hair products arou...

Chris & Stacy's Engagement Session

I love fall and I love Pere Marquette. Chris and Stacy took me out there for their engagement session last fall. They had fun. I had fun. #win. They adore Aiden. They kinda like each other too. Awww. Have I mentioned I love fall? Hmmm. -October 2014

Ellie Inspired PJ Pants (doll edition)

Also last December, I tested these mini PJ pants. It's a super easy sew and can be made for both 18" and 15" dolls. I want a pair for myself!

Fall Family Pictures (2014 edition)

It's the time of year when I should be dropping a copy of our new family pictures and Christmas Cards in the mail. I never end up sending those out anymore (but I love getting them, so maybe I should start again). Everyone's been sick or disinterested in pictures over the past month, and I can't come up with a color combo I like (it's all about what you wear you know - lol). Instead, I'll show you last year's fall family photos. We bumped into a local photog friend there and he snapped this one for us! Love my girls. This is a composite - I promise I didn't leave Brinley sitting there without hands on her for support. This shot is so 'them.' -October 2014

Ellie Inspired Doll Bonnet

Last December I tested the Ellie Inspired Mini Ruffled Baby Bonnet for Dolls. Ruffles are hard for me, and tiny ruffles are even harder :) I think they're adorable though.

Stitch Fix Review

This was my Fifth Fix. I wish I would have blogged about my other fixes. If I can find my style cards I'll post those - there were some really cute (and not-so-cute) items. I gave a more detailed description of my feelings for Stitch Fix earlier this month. This month was a wash. I was pretty disappointed with all five items. I was so excited to open it - such cute packaging.  My items this time around. I didn't end up keeping anything. They sent a Season's Greetings type of card thanking their customers this time of year. I thought it was a nice touch.  My Style Sheet (The style sheets are my favorite. It gives me ideas of other pieces (already in my closet) that I can put together. Plus the personalized note from the stylist about what I'm getting. I should note that I've had five fixes, and five different stylists. Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing.  The piece I liked the most was the Gini Fringe Pullover (upper left s...

Bella's 10 year session

This girl has a special place in my heart. She was born a year and a day after my oldest daughter. Her Mom was in labor at Paige's first birthday party. :) I've loved watching her grow up and I hope they're part of our lives for many years to come. She's getting entirely too old too quickly. -October 2014

Ellie Inspired Texas Rose Dress

I've been terrified of sewing clothes for me, but Laura from Ellie Inspired asked me if I'd be willing to test out her Texas Rose Misses pattern I couldn't say no. It's fitted enough to be flattering, but not tight, and the length is perfect. The best part of getting comfortable sewing women's clothing is that you can adjust how it fits as you go. While  my sewing is by no means perfect, I think it turned out ok!

Serum No. 5 Review

I spend entirely too much time on You Tube and came across a review of Serum No 5 glow in the dark nail polishes. Serum No. 5 an Indy Brand of polishes operating in Southern California. Each polish is made by hand and is free of formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phthalate, making them 3-free.  So back to this glow in the dark business. Am I too old to wear glow in the dark polishes? Yes probably, but the beauty of these polishes is that they're cute even when they're NOT glowing. Plus I have three girls that would love to wear it too. I ended up ordering three colors, some lip balm, and nail decals (for the girls). They arrived in a sturdy little box  And had the cutest packaging inside Wax sealed envelope holding the three cards below These made me smile. I still have them. This is the adorable bag the girls' nail decals came in. Unfortunately Brinley misplaced them before we got to try them out, so I can't speak to the quality of ...
