Erin Condren 2020 Holiday Collection – Layers Colorful Puzzle, Mid-Century Circles Colorful Playing Cards, Metal Bookmark, Leather Functional Clutch, & More
Today is Launch Day for the Erin Condren 2020 Holiday Collection!
I have a few new things to show you that I think you might like…because I kinda love them. I also have a few not new items that I think might make good gifts. If you want a closer look at these items in action, check out the Holiday Haul video I made.
I’ll start with “kind of new” items.
If you grabbed the Fall Seasonal Surprise box this year you have two Paper Honeycomb Decorations: an onion shaped one and a round one. The ornaments are now coming to the store in a 3 pack and will retail for $12. These are available in several colors. I wasn’t crazy about these, but I can see how having a group of them in the same color family might add a nostalgic touch to holiday decorating.
Also in the “kind of new” category is the Metallic Black Leather Functional Clutch. This is 8 ¾” x 7 ¼ " and has what they’re calling a phone pocket that is 3" x a little over ¾” I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, which is kind of big. While it fits width wise in the phone pocket, it’s a bit too tall to be able to zip up with it in the pocket – so I plan on laying it in the clutch side ways. For those of you with normal sized phones, you should be just fine. There are also 6 card pockets for ID cards, debit cards, gift cards too. It retails for $40 and comes packaged in the same soft white cinch bags that the On-the-go- folios come in.
Also ‘kind of new’ is the Metallic Starry Sky PopGrip. Erin Condren also has added a 'Dream, Plan, Do' PopGrip for the holiday season. These retail for $15. If you haven’t had a PopSocket on your phone before, it really is a game changer. I used to think it was just something pretty that kids use to help them take selfies, but let me be real with you - I’m on my phone a LOT…talking, reading, playing games, and my 40-year-old hands hurt after a while. When I use a phone grip (whether it’s a PopSocket, Phone Ring, or any other brand) it helps a lot. For me, this is not only really pretty, but helps with achy hands as well.
The last 4 items are things that I hadn’t seen before from Erin Condren. I’m going to go in order of my least favorite to most favorite.
Fourth is the Layers Colorful Beaded Box. I’m not gonna lie, I’m not crazy about it, but my daughter Brinley & my sister Monica love it. The bottom and the inside of the box feel like a soft canvas, the outer edges appear to be acrylic, and the top is covered with tons of tiny colorful beads. It’s a little over 7” wide, a little over 2 inches tall, and a little over 5” deep. You could store all types of things in here (jewelry, trinkets, pens, pencils, & 5x7 pictures maybe). The Beaded Box retails for $32. If you’re into the beading, you may want to check out the new beaded clutch. I haven’t seen it, but I think it’s supposed to be pretty similar in style to the beaded box.
In third, is the Believe Metal Bookmark. It’s a lot bigger than I thought it would be, and feel sturdier than I expected. I had assumed that they would be similar in size to the magnetic clips. It’s about 5 ½” long though. This one is silver, but Erin Condren also has a gold bookmark that says “Plan,” and a rosegold one that says “Create.” These retail for $12.
This next one comes in a very close second. I love it because it’s pretty, and not only is it something I will use, but my family will get in on the fun too. I laugh at this, because game night at my house can go south fast. We all form our own plan of attach, and want to execute the plan a very specific way. Rarely do we ever have the same plan. Are you familiar with the board game Pandemic? It's a team game where players collaborate to eliminate viruses. Anyway, we argue a lot with that game, but we laugh more than we argue, so I wouldn’t trade that time for anything. That’s what I love about us.
Anyway, this is the Layers colorful 500 piece puzzle and it retails for $25. I know what you’re thinking…$25 for a puzzle? Last weekend I paid $14 for a 1,000 piece puzzle at Michaels. It was a cute puzzle, and will provide hours of enjoyment, I’m sure. When I finish that puzzle, I’m going to take it apart, put it back in the box, and likely forget about it. But THIS puzzle…(sigh) - I’ve never come across a puzzle that isn’t packaged in a box. The Erin Condren puzzle is packaged in a thick plastic cylinder. It’s pretty. It would look cute sitting on my desk just as-is. But it’s not going to. I’m going to work on the puzzle with my family, then I’m going to frame the puzzle and use it as wall art, then use the canister for desktop storage. $25 for family entertainment, wall art, and storage isn’t too bad. The container is clear with gold accents, and is relatively thick. I accidentally dropped it and it didn’t break. While mad at myself for being clumsy, I was impressed by the durability. The puzzle is for ages 9 and up, has 500 pieces and is a little over 14" x 19". The puzzle is also available in Layers Neutral, Flower Power, and Mid-Century Circles.
My favorite thing, and probably the item that will get the most use in our home is the Colorful Playing Cards. The cards come packaged in a sturdy Mid-Century Circles box with gold foiling, and retail for $10. The back of the cards match the box with the mid century circles design (with the exception that the cards are not foiled), and the face of the cards are a solid color. I know in college we used to play cards a lot – this might be a great stocking stuffer for someone in college. My high school daughters used to play cards at lunch, and one of them takes cards to work (since they can’t use their cell phones). I’m going to pause for a sec to talk about kids and cell phones…why are they surprised and upset when they can’t have their phone out at work? I mean, they're there to WORK - I don’t get it. Anyway, she doesn’t need cards at work either, but they’re allowed to have those out, just not phones. That, I don’t understand. My point...if you have a high schooler in your life, you might want to grab a set for them. And, grab a set or two for yourself as well – you never know when you’re going to need some cards.
That is all I have to show today. Thanks for reading!
