StitchFix | May 2021

Summer is heating up! I’ve been looking forward to clothes I can wear outside without melting. I mentioned to my stylist (Sara) that I have been looking for some shorts or a skirt, some strappy sandals and some summery tops. Want to see what my stylist sent me? Keep reading.. Between then and the beginning of this year I got maybe 2-3 fixes per year. In January I signed up for a Style Pass and have been trying to take full advantage of that by getting monthly (or more!) fixes. I love getting a box of new clothes and being able to try them on in the comfort of my home. With  StitchFix  you can mix and match with items you already own and try new styles.  Keep what yo...

South Beach Love | Hallmark Publishing | by Caridad Pineiro

I've always been a sucker for a good Hallmark movie. After having kids it's darn ner impossible to watch a movie uninterrupted - and it's super hard to focus with the amount of background noise. Enter my love for the Hallmark novel.  South Beach Love is not as predictable as I thought it might be! Caridad Pineiro 's South Beach Love is a story about two quinceaƱeras, Cuban cooking, friendship, family ties and because it's a Hallmark story...romance. Two chefs (old friends/acquaintances) are catering the fifteenth birthday parties of two girls who are definitely not friends. Only one of the celebrations will be chosen to be featured in the local paper. And both chefs have something to prove. This is a quick and light hearted read. It's not quite as predictable as I thought it would be. I loved reading this sweet romance. Pineiro did not disappoint, and I look forward to reading more from her. -    L E T ‘ S    S T A Y    C O N N E C T E D - Instagram Y...

The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward | Macmillan Publishers

The Last House on Needless Street  is a bit unsettling.  The Last House on Needless Street is possible one of the most perplexing stories I’ve ever read. I was confused. Then I put the pieces together, quite quickly I might add, only to realize I was very wrong. I was confused again. Who is Ted? Who is the girl with the popsicle? Why are we hearing from a cat? In the end, it all makes sense. As the story goes on, we learn more and more about each of the characters and how (and why) they fit together. Each character has interdependencies that I didn’t truly understand until the end of the book. Ward paints such detailed pictures of the characters, and has put together a plot that it makes you really invested in the outcome. I definitely want to re-read this.
