I got my hands on the new Erin Condren 2021 Hello Kitty & Friends Kids Planner. If you haven't looked through the kids planner yet I highly recommend checking it out. It has a monthly format so it's a great beginner planner for younger kids - not quite as overwhelming as a weekly, hourly, or daily planner.
Take a quick look at my walkthrough:
The current Hello Kitty Collection can be found HERE- more Hello Kitty items will be added with the Back to School launch soon!
The kids planners come in a plastic folder/sleeve/pouch to keep everything together.
The planner itself is 12 months and undated so kids have a bit of flexibility on when they start. BUT, you'll notice that each month features a different Hello Kitty Character, and the monthly sticker sheets corresponding to those characters start with January.
The planner comes with a two sided piece of cardstock that shows July 2021 through December 2022 and guidance on how to use the sticker sheets with the planner.
There are 12 monthly sticker sheets, each month featuring a different Hello Kitty & Friends character - I love the foiling!
The cover sheet is adorable
It's 7x9 just like many of the LifePlanners, but it's thinner so it's easier to manage for kids. I'd compare it to the thickness of the 7x9 notebooks.
Here we can see it compared to an 18 month LifePlanner, an Academic Planner, and a notebook.
There are lots of cute pages that kids can use to notate things about themselves. This planner is great for memory keeping.
I like the reading log! There's a two page spread for reading.
I like the idea of goal tracking, but it's not something I think my daughter would use yet. I'll have to help her brainstorm ways to use this. Anyone have any ideas? She's nine and starting fourth grade.
There are two pages for allowance tracking
There's a page dedicated to "What I'm Saving For"
And a page to list what books they would like to read.
Here's where we dive into the monthly tabs. The first tab/month features Hangyodon. Kids can draw or write on the left side, and there's a quote on the right side. This is true for all 12 months.
On the next page there's a different activity each month.
Each month also has a morning and evening routine section, as well as a box to note birthdays
Next is the monthly spread. Kids can use the sticker sheets to add the month name, date dots, other boxes and deco stickers included. It would be helpful to use the "Mini Months" sheet so kids know what day the month starts on.
Each month has a page dedicated to recording what they saw, what the enjoyed, and what they did for fun.
Each month has another (different) activity at the end of the month.
I hope you enjoyed the quick overview - for a closer look at the other months check out my complete walkthrough.
Hopefully you liked the collection. If so, head over to YouTube, subscribe, and leave some love! :)
