Magnolia Network: Floret | Books by Erin Benzakein

I love all things Magnolia, Chip & Joanna Gaines, and flowers. We subscribe to Discovery+, so I feel like I need to watch ALL THE THINGS in order to get my money's worth ;) . One of my favorite networks on  Discovery is the new Magnolia Network. While perusing the Magnolia offerings, I stumbled across a series called Growing Floret. I fell in love with Erin's journey and wanted to know more. I was curious about her books and found them at  Books a Million ! I think my favorite right now is A Year in Flowers.  You can learn more about Floret HERE .   This post may contain affiliate links and I may earn a small commission when you purchase from links included (at no additional cost to you).   - LET‘S STAY CONNECTED -  Instagram  YouTube   Facebook

Three Sisters | by Heather Morris

I as able to read a galley of "The Three Sisters" and it didn't disappoint.   Heather Morris worked with the family of three sisters (Cibi, Magda, and Livi) to retell the story of the sisters’ survival. The book begins with the young sisters making a promise to their father to always stay together. It was that promise that saved their lives, and got them through their darkest days. The journey each sister takes is interesting and heartbreaking. I found myself in awe of their resiliency and tenacity. While there’s a great deal of suffering depicted in the story, it’s not as hard core as other Holocaust stories I’ve read, which makes it more appealing to me. I haven’t been able to make it through those types of books. I learned a great deal by viewing the years through the sisters’ eyes and appreciate the willingness for the characters to share their stories with Morris.   I really enjoyed reading through the many Afterward pieces from the family members of the sisters; an...

Sweet Tea | Hallmark Publishing | by Piper Huguley

Southern traditions, family recipes, history, and hope come together in author PiperHuguley’s heartfelt romance from Hallmark Publishing.   Althea has a very successful law career and has just made partner at her New York law firm. She’s not as excited about it as she thought she’d be and is trying to put her finger on why. Heading back South for her first case as partner, she visits her Grandma fir the first time in ages. She finds that her Grandma has become close with Jack, a man who claims to be making a documentary about Southern cooking. Jack was educated to become a lawyer, but his path diverged when he found a passion for cooking. This passion, and the desire to not let treasured southern recipes be forgotten, led him to his current project: a documentary and cookbook about authentic Southern food. Althea’s family has a long tradition of keeping Milford College, a historically Black institution, up and running. Currently, her Grandma raises funds by cooking and coord...

I got my hands on the new Erin Condren 2021 Hello Kitty & Friends Kids Planner. If you haven't looked through the kids planner yet I highly recommend checking it out. It has a monthly format so it's a great beginner planner for younger kids - not quite as overwhelming as a weekly, hourly, or daily planner. The kids planners come in a plastic folder/sleeve/pouch to keep everything together. The planner itself is 12 months and undated so kids have a bit of flexibility on when they start. BUT, you'll notice that each month features a different Hello Kitty Character, and the monthly sticker sheets corresponding to those characters start with January.  The planner comes with a two sided piece of cardstock that shows July 2021 through December 2022 and guidance on how to use the sticker sheets with th...
